The webinar will consist of two parts. The first part will feature Allan Carey engaging in conversation with leading policy experts Beth Baltzan and Alfredo Carrillo Obregon to examine the recent shifts in US trade policy. Baltzan and Carrillo Obregon will provide educators with a clear foundation from which to understand the current landscape of trade, globalization, and tariff policy in the United States. This will be followed by a short Q&A.
Following that conversation, the second part will feature a talk between Carey and Christopher Soule that will discuss the ways educators can bring these concepts to life in their classrooms. Soule will offer practical strategies and classroom‐ready frameworks for bringing these complex topics to students in grades 5–12. A moderated Q&A will follow, offering attendees the opportunity to engage directly and ask questions relevant to them and their educational environment.
Attendees will leave with a deeper understanding of trade and economic policy and the confidence to facilitate meaningful, balanced conversations about globalization.
