The Sphere Alumni Fellowship is a full‐scholarship professional development program designed for Sphere alumni. This fellowship program kicks off with a virtual launch in September 2026, continues with virtual sessions over the course of the six months, and concludes with an in‐person weekend retreat in Washington, DC in March 2027. Benefits include six months of professional development, resources, and mentorship, along with a chance to secure modest funding to support Fellowship projects. Participants also receive a $500 travel stipend and room and board for the closing in‐person retreat.
About the Sphere Alumni Fellowship
The fall cohort of the fellowship begins virtually on the evening of September 24, 2026, with additional virtual programming on September 25 and 26.
Sphere Alumni Fellows will then meet regularly via Zoom to discuss progress on their projects over the course of the six months and have opportunities to engage with scholars for professional development on timely policy issues.
At the conclusion of the six months, Sphere Alumni Fellows who have made progress on their projects and attended required virtual programming will attend a closing in‐person retreat in Washington, DC from March 5 – 7, 2027. This in‐person program will include conversations with leading policymakers and scholars. Fellows will also participate in project presentations with the opportunity to receive awards and secure funding to support the continued development and implementation of their projects beyond the six‐month Fellowship.
