Attend our June webinar and the book release of A History of Repeated Injuries to explore the enduring promises of the Declaration of Independence and confidently bring informed viewpoint diversity and civil discourse to your classroom! The first half of this webinar will feature Allan Carey in discussion with Thomas Berry, David Bier, and Josh Loucks, who all contributed to A History of Repeated Injuries. This conversation will provide insights into the book and a clear foundation from which educators can examine the Declaration of Independence as a principled document that can guide civic engagement and renewal. A moderated Q&A will follow, offering attendees the opportunity to engage directly with the speakers and address questions relevant to them and their educational environment. The second part of this webinar will feature Kobi Nelson in discussion with Sphere alumnus Travis Towne. He will share ways teachers can use the Declaration of Independence to help foster student skills in primary source analysis, historical evidence examination, and constructive engagement in civic dialogue. A brief Q&A will follow this conversation as well.
Attendees will leave this professional learning opportunity with a deeper understanding of America’s Founding ideals and the arc of their fulfillment, along with the confidence to facilitate meaningful conversations about this topic.
